Glastonbury is home to some of the best restaurants in central Connecticut. So, I recently decided to try all of the most popular restaurants in town to see which ones are the best.

After a few weeks of eating out every day, I’m confident that I’ve found the answer. These are the best restaurants in Glastonbury, CT.

Top Restaurants in Glastonbury, Connecticut

1. J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood

J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood is a very highly-rated restaurant in Glastonbury, CT. This steakhouse serves a wide selection of wood-grilled USDA Prime and Aged Black Angus steaks.

Although beef is their specialty, the menu at this fine-dining restaurant isn’t exclusively restricted to steak. The menu also features a number of seafood options, like lobster, crab cakes, and salmon, along with a few fantastic sides.

My favorite side dishes here include the lobster mac & cheese and the salted baked potato.

2. Bricco Trattoria

Bricco Trattoria is one of Glastonbury’s top Italian restaurants. This authentic eatery will make you feel like you’re having a meal in Italy. The menu features modern takes on all of the classic Italian dishes.

This award-winning Italian restaurant serves a variety of delicious entrees, including house-made butternut ravioli, penne alla vodka, chicken parmesan, and Italian sausage pizza.

The chefs at Bricco Trattoria make some great appetizers and soups too, like fried calamari and beef carpaccio.

3. Max Fish

Max Fish is an excellent seafood restaurant in Glastonbury. The menu here features a range of award-winning cooked seafood dishes, along with a raw bar.

A few of the dishes you can order at Max Fish include shrimp cocktails, chilled lobster, fish tacos, chicken parmesan, New England lobster rolls, salmon, littleneck clams, and north Atlantic Haddock.

Dining at the restaurant is always a great experience. The food never disappoints and the service is always top-notch. This is one of the many restaurants located in downtown Glastonbury.

4. Plan b Glastonbury

Plan b Glastonbury is a burger chain and pub that serves a variety of entrees, craft beers, and bourbons. The chain also has restaurants in West Hartford, Simsbury, and Southington, but the Glastonbury location is the most popular.

The menu features dishes like southern sliders, American nachos, pulled pork tacos, and a variety of delicious burgers. There are a few non-beef burgers on the menu as well.

Aside from dining in, this is one of the restaurants in Glastonbury that offers both takeout and delivery. Plus, they’re open until 1 am on most days, which is perfect for late-night snacks.

5. Sayulita Restaurant

Some of the best Mexican food in Glastonbury is found at Sayulita Restaurant. This trendy restaurant serves modern Mexican cuisine like skirt steak fajitas, lobster enchiladas, and chicken chili tamales.

My favorite item on the menu is the tacos a la carte, which come in flavors like Korean short rib, pork belly, and seared tuna. The margaritas are really good too.

Just be aware that Sayulita Restaurant is always packed, so be sure to come early. This is one of the restaurants in town that doesn’t offer reservations, however, they do have both indoor and outdoor dining available.

6. Rooftop 120

Located directly next to Plan b is Rooftop 120. This Glastonbury restaurant has a rooftop lounge with fire pits, so they can offer outdoor dining year-round.

The dinner menu features foods like steak & fries, burgers, buffalo chicken wraps, wings, and kale salad. It’s mostly just small plates, but the food is really good.

This spot is best known for its bar, which features seasonal cocktails, live entertainment, and happy hour specials. You can find this trendy restaurant Eric Town Square in the heart of Glastonbury.

7. Ken’s Corner Breakfast & Lunch

Ken’s Corner is one of the best places to grab brunch in all of Glastonbury. This place serves an extensive menu of hot, homestyle breakfast items, along with a handful of lunch items.

They serve dishes like pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs benedict, omelets, and hot sandwiches. Ken’s Corner Breakfast & Lunch is only open from 7 am to 1 pm, so make sure you arrive early if you’re ordering a meal.

Also, note that the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. Ken’s Corner Breakfast & Lunch is located in the same plaza as the two aforementioned restaurants.

You can order Japanese dishes like sushi rolls, sashimi, tuna steak, and filet mignon. I highly recommend the hibachi entrees which can include foods like lobster tail, shrimp, chicken, steak, calamari, and fried noodles.

Sakura Garden Japanese Steakhouse offers both indoor and outdoor seating. This is another one of the restaurants in Glastonbury that are located in Town Square.

The Spicy Green Bean is an affordable family-run restaurant in downtown Glastonbury. This CT restaurant offers different menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all of which focus on classic American dishes.

Some of the standout options on the menu include the crab benedict, meatball melt sandwich, falafel bowl, and turkey burger. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes as well, including several salads and veggie burgers.

The veggie burger here is one of the best in the state. Just know that the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Some of my favorite dishes here include the grass-fed skirt steak, Atlantic cod, Amish chicken, and pork Milanese. The cheese board is exceptional as well.

The Beamhouse allows you to order online, so you don’t have to wait long to get your food. This is one of the smaller restaurants in town and it often flies under the radar, but you can’t argue with the rave reviews it’s been receiving.

MexiPHO is a popular Mexican and Vietnamese Fusion restaurant in Glastonbury. This is a great place to grab tasty, yet affordable food at a restaurant with good service.

The menu features dishes like tacos, burritos, phoburritos, bowls, taco salads, nachos, tortas, and quesadillas.

It’s super easy to order your food online since the restaurant partners with Grubhub, DoorDash, and Uber Eats to offer delivery for customers.

Maggie McFly’s is a unique restaurant in Glastonbury. Although the chain has several locations, the chefs still focus on serving high-quality foods that are organic and locally sourced.

The restaurant is usually open from 11 am to 11 pm, so they serve lunch and dinner. The staff here is super friendly as well.

The restaurant has a great ambiance, making for an enjoyable dining experience. Just know that they are closed on Mondays.

You can order a variety of different pies, including meat lovers, veggie, buffalo chicken, Margherita, and classic cheese. They also offer a build-your-own pizza option.
