Driving Ranges in CT – 7 Best Golf Facilities in Connecticut
If you want to get better at golf, you’re going to have to practice. You can’t just head onto the golf course and start swinging. That’s why it’s important to hit the driving range, and fortunately, Connecticut has plenty of them.
This past summer, I tested out all of the most popular driving ranges in the state to see which ones were the best. Now that the season is over, I’ve rated all the best driving ranges in CT.
Top Driving Ranges in Connecticut
1. Lyman Orchards Golf Club
Lyman Orchards Golf Club is one of the best driving ranges in Connecticut. In fact, it was recognized as one of the top 50 public practice ranges in the country.
This golf club has practice facilities for both your long game and short game. The short-game practice area spans 20,000 square feet and has roughs, bunkers, and greens. At the driving range, you can purchase 75 golf balls for $15.

2. Sterling Farms Golf Course
Sterling Farms Golf Course is a popular golf range in CT, found in Stamford. The driving range at this course has 2-levels and 44 bays. The range is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, plus it’s heated and covered.
The Sterling Farms Golf Course is staffed is certified PGA instructors, so it’s the perfect place to work on your swing. Golf lessons are going to cost more than just hitting balls on the driving range, but it’s worth the money.

3. Copper Hill Golf Club
Copper Hill Golf Club has a great golf range in Connecticut. Located in East Granby, the range has 4 different levels, and the tees are all on grass. Golf balls are cheap here, costing only $13 for a large basket of 120 balls.
In addition to the driving range, Copper Hill Golf Club also has a 3,500-square-foot pitching and chipping green, where you can put down your driver and work with your wedges and irons.

4. Toptracer Golf Range at SportsCenter of Connecticut
The Toptracer Golf Range at SportsCenter of Connecticut is another highly-rated driving range in the state. The range is heated and weather-protected, so you can practice your golf game 365 days a year.
If you haven’t tried a Toptracer range before, it’s pretty cool. The system tracks your golf ball, so you know exactly where it’s going. This allows you to practice for both distance and accuracy. They don’t have grass for the tees, but the range uses state-of-the-art artificial turf mats that are just as good.

5. East Hartford Golf Center
East Hartford Golf Center is a little-known driving range in CT, located in East Hartford. This 300-yard driving range offers plenty of room to work on your swing on both synthetic turf and actual grass.
The owner is super friendly and offers discounted buckets to regulars. Plus, you can save money by using some of the used balls they offer. Their hours of operation are usually from 9 am to 6 pm during the golf season.

6. Chris Cote’s Toptracer Golf Range and Performance Center
Chris Cote’s Golf Range and Performance Center is another driving range in Connecticut that utilizes Toptracer technology. A large bucket of golf balls (150 balls) here costs $25.
This place has a really good staff and is excellent at club fittings and repairs. Chris Cote’s Toptracer Golf Range offers lessons as well.

Malerba’s Golf Driving Range is a highly-reviewed Connecticut driving range in Norwich. The range here is well-maintained and is the perfect spot to work on your game if you live in New London County.
When you’re ready to play a few rounds for real, you can easily head across the street to the Norwich Golf Club for a couple of holes.
